I’ve always been interested and capable of the craftsmanship involved with camera equipment.

I am credited with an independent study at Webster University:  Research and Development of Custom Lens System.   I researched optics, cameras, and lenses with a physics professor to build my own 35mm format depth of field adaptor lens system for an HD video camera.  I acquired the assistance of a manufacturer in Belarus to make the lens mounts I needed, but the rest I built and assembled myself.

The camera I then shot a few short films with was lovingly called the “Frankenstein Camera” by my fellow film students, because of all the attachments and the lens system I made for the camera.

I’ve since sold that lens system with the camera, and I now have a mastery of such systems.  For example, in my boredom one day I built such a lens system for a point and shoot I got recently in only a few hours, including the design, metal work, and engineering.

I find myself making new lens systems to uniquely fulfill creative requirements of scenes.
